Work Experience

Upon graduating from Indiana State University with a bachelor's in Business Administration, Courtney moved to Dallas, Texas to attend Cosmetology school. She went to Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy in Carrollton, Texas. Toni & Guy was started decades ago in London by four Italian brothers. During the 70's they moved their franchise over to the U.S. to start some salons. Opening their new salons, they quickly realized that they couldn't find qualified hairstylists to work for them, so they started the Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy. They now have multiple academies located in Dallas, New York, LA, and Phoenix, as well as dozens of salons located in major cities across the U.S. Most people here in the Midwest don't recognize the name Toni & Guy, but they have seen hair products made by TIGI, Bedhead or Catwalk. Those are all lines manufactured by Toni & Guy. After nine months of being in Cosmetology school full time, Courtney graduated in February of 2004. Scott and Courtney were engaged shortly there after, and she moved back to Indiana to plan the wedding and look for a job.

Starting a job here in Indy has been fun and hard work! Not knowing many people, she had to build a clientele from scratch. Courtney first received a job at Hairquest in Carmel, IN. She worked there for about 14 months and built a pretty good clientele, but wanted to work at a Salon where she could do booth rent. In June 2005 she moved to Secrets Nail and Hair Design in Carmel, which is where she is now located. Courtney loves being at Secrets, she has a great group of clients and she enjoys being able to run her own business.
