Thank you for visiting our website.  Some of you may have seen the old website.  It had grown out dated and required a lot of work to update.  That along with our desire to find a way to update our friends and family on our adoption progress resulted in this new, redesigned website.  I spent some time looking into content management systems and various open source resources and the end result is what you see before you.  This specific section will be used ot provide you updates on our adoption journey as they happen.

As I type this in mid-December we are nearing the end of our "paper chase."  Typically the first 3-5 months of an adoption is spent gathering documents, signatures, referrsals, justifying financial and medical history and completing an in depth home study.  We have everything done except for Courtney's Birth Certificate and our I171 form from the US Customs and Immigration Services Office.  Courtney's Birth Certificate is in the mail on its way to Monroe County, New York where it is getting certified and then will be sent to the New York State Department for authentication.  The I171 form from USCIS should arrive any time as we completed our finger prints almost three weeks ago now.  Once all the above is complete we will take all the documents down to the Indiana Secretary of State to get them authenticated.  Then it will be time to send them to American World, which is our adoption agency.
