Home Stretch - 3rd Base

So we've gotten a few more details on how the rest of the process will work. I was thinking this morning that if the adoption were a baseball game that we would just be rounding 3rd base and heading toward home plate. Here is how the rest of the process will work...

Court date in Ethiopia is Thursday, April 26th.  We will not be in-country for this.  American World has an in-country representative that will represent us.  After the court date we will have a court decree from Ethiopia that will make our adoption official in that country.

Then it will take 2-3 weeks for the court decree to get translated to English, for Noah to get his Passport and visa from the US Consulate and for the other paperwork needed to be generated in Ethiopia.

After it's confirmed that all the paperwork above is being processed and moving forward we will buy plane tickets for our trip (this will probably be early May when we buy the tickets.)

There will only be a 1.5 week window after we buy tickets before we travel.  So that part of the process will move very quick!  That will put us traveling about mid-May.

So while all the above is happening (most of it is outside our control and does not require our involvement) we will be busy preparing, packing, having baby showers and counting down every day as a day closer to when we get to bring our son Noah home!
