Ethiopia - Day #2 (v)

Well Scott and I are now back in our hotel room, just back from meeting our precious Noah for the first time! It is a feeling you can't explain, after dreaming about it for so long...

We have prayed that it wouldn't be a traumatic experience for him and that somehow Noah would know deep down that we are his parents. When we first got to the orphanage they had us wait a few minutes because they were dressing Noah up for us... hehe, well they sure did. They then led us into a room where there were about 8 babies, 2 each in a crib. They wanted us to try and pick him out. So we went into the room with all these adorable little faces staring at you and we started looking. You would think after staring at his face everyday for two months it would be easy. However, Noah was dressed in a white onesie, with pink heart tights (all the babies wore tights to stay warm), and a pink sweater.

We first guessed the little guy next to him in the crib because they looked fairly similar... wrong! But they told us we were close. So then we picked him. We looked at him and I squealed of course. Then Noah did this little wiggle thing, like saying, "hey, pick me up." I picked him up and he just looked at us with those big brown eyes and then I started crying, of course. We spent the next hour or so holding him and rocking him. Scott even rocked him to sleep and I just melted. He is the most peaceful baby... so content. At one point all the babies around him were crying or screaming and he just sat there with us... not one peep. He loves to cuddle and hold your finger, which I just love. I think God truely answered our prayers and Noah had been waiting for us! We can't wait to go see him again tomorrow and then bring him with us on Wednesday.

Continue to pray for us and Noah... that he continues to stay healthy and strong. That our trip will continue to go smoothly, including the consulate appointment on Wednesday, when we will get his passport and visa. And that our trip home will go well on that looonngg flight. Hopefully Noah will stay content and all the changes he will go through won't startle him too much. Thank you for all your encouragement and comments to our previous posts. We love reading every one of them. We are so excited to step off that plane and introduce you all to our little angel!
