Circumcission

We've gotten this question often... are boys in other parts of the world circumcissed and if not how do you handle it with an adopted child when you return to the US...
The answer is, No, boys in most parts of the world do not get circumcised at birth as is customary here in the US. Noah is not. We have talked to a doctor and were told that we would need to wait until he is at least one year old before they can do the surgery. Reason is they use anesthesia that would put him completly to sleep and it could be dangerous if they're too young. However, once they turn one it becomes very low risk.
We did also learn that circumcission in the US is not nearly as common as it used to be. It's still done to the majority of boys at birth but there's an increasing percentage of people that are not circumcised.
So that's what we know. This may be a weird post but everyone asks this question and people have got to have somewhere to go to get these answers :)
